A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME...

I'm so happy that you've connected with me, because what I've got to share can make big changes in your life.

I'm Emily Young, and I'm a degree qualified Naturopath and Nutritionist, living and practicing in Northcote in Melbourne, Australia.

I have a strong background in the health and medical field and use the gems that I've collected in these areas to help shape my naturopathic treatment of women with hormonal, skin and gut issues as well as fertility and pregnancy care.

It's been a long road for me! I started out studying biomedical science, and then completing a nursing degree. I've always been interested in biology and health. However, I experienced some health issues that conventional medicine just couldn't help in any sort of lasting way. These were primarily skin and hormonal conditions- first eczema, and then acne, and then gut issues (parasites, food intolerances and much more...).

This is when I discovered natural medicine and Naturopathy, and knew that this was where I wanted to be. The concept of holistic medicine- treating the body as a wholeresonated with me and I loved how Naturopathic treatment looks for the root causes of health issues and aims to correct these imbalances in the body. It's not a band-aid solution or a quick fix, and that's what I wanted for my own health, and what I want for your health too.

I'm also ridiculously in love with food, so food as medicine is the perfect marriage of the two areas I'm most passionate about. I love to cook and create. It doesn't always work out, but that's part of the fun. All of the food I cook is gluten-free and dairy free, and I love discovering recipes that are delicious but that also suit specific dietary requirements (like nut-free, egg-free, grain-free etc.). After all, I believe that food and eating food is one of the true joys in life, and I want everyone to be able to experience the joy of eating even if they have dietary restrictions.

I studied Naturopathy at Endeavour College of Natural Health and also worked as a pathology collector (taking blood) while completely my degree. I worked in hospitals and medical centres so I've always been connected to the two worlds of Western medicine and Complementary medicine, which has shaped me into a well-rounded practitioner.

My own health journey has been a long one. Struggling with skin conditions and hormonal issues, I understand how frustrating it can be; especially when you feel like you're doing everything right and you're trying so hard. I've spent so much time studying formally and then researching like a crazy woman in my own time about hormones, skin and gut health (like a mad scientist). Through my own journey, I've been able to address my own health issues, and now I'd love to do the same for you. I've spent about a decade learning and gathering information on these issues, and while I encourage you to do your own research, I want to make it a bit easier for you!

This website is for you if you want to get to the bottom of your health issues once and for all, and feel well again. Please soak up as much information as you can from all I have to share here, and I hope that it helps you on your healing path. If you're confused and feel a bit lost, you have the option of working with me- either online or in my clinic- for some more guided support and tailored treatment.

I wish you the best on your health journey!

Emily xx
